MEC Northwest Purchases New Building in Canby, Oregon, to Accommodate Growth

Canby, OR - Stimulated by the strong demand among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for PCB Design engineering and turnkey production volume electronic PCB Assembly services, MEC Northwest (www.mecnorthwest.com) has purchased a 45,000-square-foot light industrial building in Canby, Oregon, for its more than 70 employees. Previously, the company occupied a much smaller space in Milwaukie, Oregon. A full range of positions, including PCB assemblers, machine operators, technicians, machine programmers and inside sales positions, are expected to be added.

"Our new process technology for quick-turnaround, low-volume PCB product fills a need in the marketplace. This capability continues to fuel our expansion. The Canby site gives us the appropriate space to keep costs low while continuing to provide exceptional service and quality levels," explained Rick McClain, General Manager. "There has been steady progress over the last five years. We initially started with 10,000 square feet and expanded to 16,000 after the first two years of spinning out of ECD and becoming part of the MEC family of companies."
