NEWS RELEASE - DECEMBER 15, 2005 MEC Northwest Purchases New Building in Canby, Oregon, to Accommodate Growth
"Our new process technology for quick-turnaround, low-volume PCB product fills a need in the marketplace. This capability continues to fuel our expansion. The Canby site gives us the appropriate space to keep costs low while continuing to provide exceptional service and quality levels," explained Rick McClain, General Manager. "There has been steady progress over the last five years. We initially started with 10,000 square feet and expanded to 16,000 after the first two years of spinning out of ECD and becoming part of the MEC family of companies." "MEC was looking at a plant expansion and needed the right combination of building space, facility cost, and access to public infrastructure, including streets. MEC's needs happened to fit exactly with an industrial building that had just come available. Despite having a large supply of available industrial land, we have very few available buildings in Canby and so were very pleased that MEC was able to find this facility," explained John R. Williams, Community Development & Planning Director, City of Canby, Oregon. MEC Northwest, an ISO 9000 certified company, offers design engineering and turnkey production volume electronic assembly services to blue chip OEMs in the medical, transportation, military, HVAC, and other industrial and consumer industries.
